Perjalanan Hidup Levi’s 501 Shrink to Fit @ Levi’s 501XX (Part 5)

Kali terakhir aku update 'kisah bersiri' ni adalah pada bulan Ogos 2011. Tempoh yang dah lebih setahun yang lepas tu!!! Hehehe... Walaupun lama tak update pasal perjalanan jeans tu, sebenarnya aku masih lagi aktif untuk break jeans STF ni, cuma hasilnya masih kurang memuaskan disebabkan beberapa perkara. Apa dia? Silalah baca dulu ye. Anyway, meh aku sambung cerita pasal apa sudah jadik dengan jeans 501xx STF aku tu. Tapi kali ni aku nak fokus cerita dekat the second jeans yang aku dah beli & pakai. Kalau baca Part 4, aku ada bagitau sepintas lalu pasal jeans STF kedua yang on da way ke Malaysia time tu, so inilah ceritanya...

Orite, jeans Levi's 501 STF kedua tu sampai Malaysia ngam-ngam sebelum start cuti Hari Raya Aidilfitri tahun 2011 (bukan typo error ye tuan-tuan, memang tahun 2011). So sampai la waktu aku tulis ni, dah lebih setahun  jeans tu dipakai. Iyelah, dah dua kali sambut hari Raya pakai jeans tu kot.

Straight to the point untuk kisah jeans yang second ni, aku takdelah nak pakai lama gile before soak. Macam mana pun, ada la dekat sebulan lebih kot before aku start soak tu. Jeans kali ni waist dia true to size (W40 L33). So masa  start pakai, fitting memang dah agak ngam dan macam tak perlu nak soak. Hehehe... Macam biasa, aku kasik lenjan sikit bagi kesan honeycomb tu kuar dulu, dan bagi jeans meregang lebih banyak lagi.

After sebulan lebih (itu pun tak selalu pakai) barulah aku pegi ke next step iaitu buat first soak. STF tu terpaksa bermandi air panas dalam baldi untuk beberapa ketika sebelum aku gantung sekejap untuk bagi air rendaman jatuh. Agak-agak dah takde air yang menitik lagi, aku sarung dalam keadaan jeans tu masih lagi lembap seterusnya start motor dan bawak pusing-pusing tengah KL tanpa ada perasaan bersalah. Ye la, nak naik kuda macam koboi takde kan, so terpaksalah pakai motor. (Boleh baca Part 4 untuk faham!!!). Hahaha... Boleh kata sampai kering jugak la jeans tu aku pakai pada hari kejadian. Resultnya: Memang Levi's 501 STF saiz 40 tu jadik ketat dan sangat fit. Bagus gak la sebab aku bagi STF tu kering kat badan masa dipakai. Kalau tak buat macam tu, mungkin ada kesukaran untuk aku sarung kot... Hehehe... 

Sekali lagi aku nak ulang, jeans STF ni akan memang akan meregang semula ikut bentuk badan korang after pakai few times. Walaupun pada mulanya agak ketat, tapi lama-kelamaan aku dapat rasakan yang jeans ni memang akan automatik ikut shape bentuk badan kita. Lepas kejadian yang aku pakai jeans time masih lembap dan bawak naik motor pusing-pusing KL tu, takde la benda fancy lain yang aku dah buat. Benda biasa-biasa je la setakat pakai jeans tu dengan kadar yang agak kerap dan pakai ke sana-sini. Pegi offshore aku pakai, balik kampung aku pakai, beli cendol aku pakai, pegi Pejabat Pos hantar barang customer aku pakai, pegi window shopping aku pakai, pegi kerja kahwin aku pakai ~ tak abis la senarai ni bai, takkan nak tulis semua. Hahaha...

Setakat entry ni ditulis, jeans tu mungkin dah dibasuh tak lebih lima kali, termasuklah sekali tu dibasuh gunakan washing machine! Sebabnya? Adalah pulak seseorang yang rajin sangat tolong basuhkan jeans tu pakai mesin basuh walhal aku tak suruh pun. Tau-tau jeans dah kering dan dah siap berlipat cantik. Aduhai... So, boleh kata ada benda yang tak sepatutnya berlaku, telah menyibuk dalam eksperimen jeans aku tu. Bukan apa, lepas kejadian basuh ngan washing machine tu, warna jeans dah turun dengan agak ketara, siap ada kawasan pada jeans yang warnanya jadi tak sekata. Starting dari tu, aku jadi down sikit nak lanyak jeans STF tu disebabkan pada masa yang lebih kurang sama, berat badan aku pun dah start turun sebab aku diet. Hahaha... Sekarang dah turun berbelas kg secara totalnya. Secara tak langsung, jeans yang saiz 40 tu sekarang secara mudahnya boleh kata dah jadi saiz besar. So, jeans STF pertama yang aku beli saiz 42 tu lagilah super duper besar!

Mungkin ada yang tanya, tak nak start projek baru dengan STF saiz lagi kecik ke?? Ermmmm.... disebabkan aku masih berangan-angan untuk turunkan berat badan lagi, so aku masih belum start new projek lagi. Kang membazir masa pulak kalau beli saiz 38, tapi cuma mampu dipakai sekejap je... Hehehe... Ceh, konon tak nak membazir, abis brand Bogel & Terkenal saiz 38 tu apa benda? Levi's 501 Air Jordan tu apa ke hal pulak yeop? Hahaha...

Berbalik kepada jeans Levi's 501 STF size 40 aku tu, kat bawah ni adalah gambar-gambar terkini jeans tu. Boleh tengok la sejauh mana jeans tu dah shrink kalau nak dibandingkan dengan sehelai jeans saiz yang sama, yang aku simpan sebagai perbandingan (ceh another Levi's 501 STF tu bai!). Paling ketara dah tentu kesan honeycomb belakang lutut. Kat poket belakang pulak ada kesan beg dompet, pastu lutut dengan kat peha adalah tanda-tanda jeans ni selalu dipakai, tapi of course masih banyak lagi yang boleh dibuat. Cuma sekarang bila aku dah kurang berat, agak susah nak buat kesan-kesan tu sebab most of time, aku macam pakai jeans yang longgar banyak gile...

Levi´s® Vintage Clothing 1915 501 Cone Mills Colab Rigid

 

The story of Cone denim began 1891, when brothers Moses and Ceasar founded Cone Export and Commission Company. By 1905 they established a mill that would become renowned for setting the standard for quality denim. Cone Denim's White Oak mill, named after a 200 year old tree on its grounds, continues to craft the most authentic denims for over a century. Regarded as a stronghold of textile history, White Oak remains an integral resource for its archives and an endless inspiration. In 1915, Cone was approached by LS&CO as a supplier, beginning a long term commitment to one another.

In 1920's, Cone started individualizing LS&CO's denim with Red Selvedge, which is still synonymous with Levi's denim. By 1922, LS&CO exclusively obtained all of its high quality denim from White Oak. Nearly 100 years later, we're still unearthing archival detail about fabrics we developed through our history with Cone. This jean is a celebration, replicating the combination of Cone fabric and fit from 1915. It carries the secrets of a 94 year history within its warp and weft.

Levi's® Vintage Clothing 1947 501 Jeans Rigid

The 1947-501® jean is regarded as the definitive five-pocket jean and the quintessential 501® model. Levi's® jeans had been in short supply during the years of World War II, when several key features were removed to save vital metal and fabric. By 1947, the newly restored 501® jean was in huge demand. 


The stitched arcuate returned to the two back pockets: stitched with a double-needle machine, it now formed a diamond shape at the point where the two lines meet. Original Levi's® zinc buttons also enjoyed a comeback. But the crotch rivet, cinch-back and suspender buttons had been put out to pasture - permanently. Instead, belt loops and concealed copper rivets became standard. 


Made with Red XX Selvage using Cone Mills' deep tone indigo, the color blossoms with age in the purest redcast indigo. The 1947-501® jeans continued the tradition of a big "E" on the (single-stitched) red Tab, plus the Two Horse leather patch.
